At Valiant Support, the role of a support worker is not simply to complete tasks for someone, but to coach, guide, and encourage participants as they develop practical life skills and confidence.

The people who thrive in this role are patient, organised, and comfortable working independently. They are curious, open to learning, and motivated by seeing others grow over time. Previous experience in disability support can be helpful, but it is not essential. The right mindset, strong communication, and a genuine commitment to supporting independence are what truly matter.

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certifications or willingness to obtain
  • A Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain
  • A valid Driver's License, access to a well maintained and comprehensively insured car,
    and willingness to provide Transport Support.
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Role Types

At Valiant Support, Support Workers work in one of two key roles.

COMMUNITY GAMES SUPPORT WORKERS

In this role, you will use tabletop and hobby games as a structured way to build social confidence, teamwork, and emotional regulation. Your goal is to work together to foster sustainable community participation and ongoing connections.

Community Games support workers must be able to provide Transport Support, and should have working knowledge of the following games:

  • DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS 5E (2014),
    INCLUDING DM EXPERIENCE
  • MAGIC THE GATHERING (COMMANDER)
  • WARHAMMER (40K OR AGE OF SIGMAR)
  • SOCIAL AND STRATEGY BOARDGAMES

Minimum 15 hours of evening
availability per week across 3 weeknights is required (from 5pm).

Thursday and Friday evenings are highly desirable.

INDEPENDENT LIVING SUPPORT WORKERS

In this role, you will provide one on one supports with minimal personal care, focused instead on building capacity and confidence in everyday life skills such as:

  • HOUSEKEEPING & ORGANISATION
  • COOKING & MEAL PREP
  • INCIDENTAL EXERCISE
  • USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT

You will also provide Transport Support.

The role requires workers who are already confident and independent in daily living tasks, and ready to step into a role coaching and supporting others to grow their skills while overcoming barriers.

Minimum 15 hours of availability per week

across at least 3 weekdays is required.
